Could you talk a bit more about what an ‘event-crawl’ is? I assume it stands distinct from a dungeon crawl?

90s D&D modules were often arranged around a narrative constructed out of discreet Events. Players would do whatever until they triggered or otherwise collided with an Event, which would push the narrative forward, repeating until the climax (which too-often involved spectating while two NPCs duke it out). If you diagram it out, though, it is essentially a dungeon crawl or point crawl in a different sort of skin.
