Big Bad Toy Store is having a sale on their stock of Super7 toys, so I took a look, figuring I'd get something for the kid. He likes robots and skeletons and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, so this was a good bet. I got him the Ultimate Krang and the Ultimate Mousers. But then, I also bought the Ultimate Cobra BAT, the Ultimate Robot Reaper and the Ultimate Black Falcon, using a bizarre justification that while I was clearly buying them for me, because they were a robot, a skeleton and a robot skeleton, Jer would appreciate them as well and maybe I'd let him play with them a bit. Or something.
Anyway, they arrived yesterday and I am impressed. I don't know why I am impressed, because I've been buying Super7's Ultimate Conan toys, and they are pretty great. But I guess I didn't really expect to be so pleased with biggified, detailified versions of small toys whose appeal, for me, is closely tied to their simple sculpts.
Anyway, they're dope. Just look at that screaming skelly goodness that is Black Falcon! You couldn't ask for a better skeleton warrior toy, honestly (well, until my Super7 D&D Ultimates, which includes Dekkion the Skeleton Warrior, shows up tomorrow.). Now to fight the growing desire to buy the Destro and Cobra Commander Ultimates... |
