This is the Avalon Hill version of Snake Pipe Hollow from 1987. It is largely identical in substance, aside of a conversion to the RuneQuest 3 rules system. In presentation, though, this is the superior version, boasting the best cover (look at those creepy toes!), Avalon Hill’s excellent design and typesetting, new (lovely) maps and more illustrations (which are better in quality – though that same dragon snail is in here – but nothing awe-inspiring).

The presentation here goes a long way in cementing my belief that this is one of the best adventure modules – good organization, a pull-out of player maps and monster stats and that welcome Avalon Hill polish makes the material shine extra bright.
