K-2: Dwellers of the Bog (2024)

K-2: Dwellers of the Bog (2024) is the sequel/companion to Kavlov’s Sanctuary. It’s structured similarly — classes, safe hub settlement, wilderness, dungeons — though I do think the dungeons are a shade more complex and interesting in this go around. Taken together, the two books provide a hefty environment for exploration.

There’s also an emergent plot line that players can engage with if they desire. This one is a bit less morally murky and I would maybe try to find a way to move some things between the books if I was using both, so the quest lines wouldn’t feel so bifurcated. This one involves a druid and a sorcerer at odds, a sacred tree in need of healing and a broken sword that really ought not to be reforged but the players will probably do it anyway, because of course they will.

Quite like the art by Franklin Lima, kind of reminds me of Henrik Rosenborg, who does a lot of art for Forbidden Lands. Oh, and there is a free soundtrack! Love that!

Basically, keep an eye on The Dungeon’s Key — they also have several interesting zines and I think they’re one to watch in the coming years.
