This week on the Vintage RPG Podcast, we check out some old catalogs from Grenadier Models. Funny thing, back when these catalogs first came out, they’d stop working after a while. But now, with the internet and the infinite store that is eBay, old catalogs work again. I can just flip through, find a rad minotaur I want and to the search engine I go, wallet in hand…

Hey guys, I’m enjoying the podcasts. Just hopping around looking for stuff that touches on the vintage era.
“Some guy named Rubin” is Ray Rubin, co-founder of the company, Grenadier. His art was on the cover of many of their products, including the famous AD&D gold box sets. Love his art and the originals paintings are really collectible.
Re current minis – you absolutely can (and should) still buy metal miniatures. Ral Partha Legacy is producing almost all of their fantasy minis. (Iron Wind had some of the minis too). As you said, the Grenadier line is still available as well. Unfortunately some other companies close and their molds have gone out of production. That said, you are right, nothing is better than old lead.
Oh heck, I didn’t know that about Ray Rubin! Thanks for that!
