The last solo videogame I played at length was Assassin's Creed Valhalla, which I thoroughly loved. Despite this, and having invested 150+ hours into the game, I never finished it. Well, I got to a point of finality in the narrative, but essentially left all the expansion content unplayed. I didn't even go to Vineland, which was a pretty fun part of the base game!
This week, I had reason to finally go back (I am dying to tell y'all why, but I can't yet. Soon!) and man, it is good. I really love Eivor, I really love climbing to high spots in Britain and looking at the landscape. I like futzing with rings of standing stones. I love cleaving off Saxon heads. Vineland was cool! I have been doing the river raids for a bit just to get back into the swing of the combat, then Ireland. Then Paris? Then Asgard. Then maybe another videogame? World's my oyster, I suppose. |
