The sixth edition Call of Cthulhu rules, from 2005. Again, more a function of keeping the book in print and available than changing how the game works (more fool me for buying them all, I guess).

This one is notable for being ugly as sin. The interiors are full of muddy grey tone design “flourishes,” repeated spot illustrations and border work and a lot of stuff that I think is meant to make me feel like I am holding an ancient tome. This is the sort of thing you get when someone gets their hands on digital layout tools for the first time and thinks it’s a great idea to toss all conventional design philosophy out the window. I hate looking at this book. It offends me. Sadly, I had to look at it quite a bit, because I started my Masks of Nyarlathotep campaign before the very pretty 7th edition rules were released and there was no way we were converting to the new system in Cairo.
