The playset that got Dragonriders in trouble was Demons of Castlelon — I don’t have that one, but I suspect it is another BIG box like the original. The subsequent playsets, though, are much smaller (including Forest of Doom, which I posted about last summer) and come in clamshell boxes that supposedly double as “castles” but not in any convincing sense (you can see it in the background of the product shot, though that configuration doesn’t seem possible with the actual box in hand).

Anyway, this is The Tower of the Night, which is a sort of re-do of the original box — it has the same assortment of dudes and a castle. I feel like this one should be undead themed, but Dragonriders never went in for skeletons and such, which feels like a missed opportunity. Compared to the other boxes, this one’s cover painting is a bit on the conservative side of things — it really downplays the monsters. Which is OK, I still like it. The color scheme is nice. Oh, and we should take a moment to appreciate that font. What on earth is that N doing? And the crenelations on the top of the T in tower is a nice touch.
