OK, so, the second Dragonriders of the Styx line? The action figures I posted a few weeks back? That line had “vehicles.” One is a deeply horrific horse demon that I dearly want to own. The others are weird sled-like things, one skull themed, the other bat demon themed. They’re pretty great, too, but expensive and often broken, and I don’t love them that much.
Anyway, sleds! It turns out that the original Dragonriders line, the solid plastic army men-style line also had weird vehicle sled things. There is a dragon one, which I don’t have, and then there is this…bat cyclops worm demon? I dunno what it is, but it is a place of honor on my shelf. It is so beautifully stupid. Like a mutant clone of Harryhausen’s island cyclops, or its larval stage. I love it. It is pure weird.
OMG, I’ve been searching for decades for this! I had him as a kid and I got him in a small box set with a ‘window’ top (like a pie box). He was on the top with a bunch of army men style gargoyles and Orcs etc. I had a ‘good guy’ box like this too which had the same type of beast/vehicle but instead it was a green dragon that came with knights and wizards! Nobody, and I mean nobody, has had the faintest idea of what I was talking about whenever I brought this guy up! Amazing! Thanks for the share!!
YES! Amazing! Part of the reason I post weirdo toys is my hope that it will do exactly this for someone, solve decades old mystery and reintroduce old friends. Love it.
