I have several pounds of old lead that I have neither the skill nor patience to try and paint, so a while back, I asked some of my followers who have ample amounts of both to take a crack at some. And this week, because the results are awesome, I’m sharing them with you! These are the work of Justin Wigard!

Justin’s first miniature is one of my all time favorites – Boarak the chaos warrior. He’s from Ral Partha, but I couldn’t track down the line or dates. I do know there is a mounted version (because I own that too), but this one is much cooler. Once again, really love the surprising color selections. Also really love the fact that I never realized he was bare-armed until he got painted.
The big boy is the demon (obvs a Balor) from Grenadier’s Monsters box for their 1980 D&D line. Very into how the paint job makes the sword look like it is glowing and throwing light onto the demon’s body.
Last up is a lizard man from Grenadier’s first Fantasy Lords series. I think there is weird charm to the way a lot of early minis look weirdly stiff and awkward, and this one has that, but also has that really nice scale pattern – something I couldn’t really appreciate until it was painted.
