Ikhon (2022)

Ikhon (2022) is a horrible little addition to Mork Borg (originally released in 2021, that run had a production error and is unusable; the corrected edition emerged the following year). It simulates an in-game object, a mysterious box that imprisons four near-forgotten folk gods who can be invoked by the desperate. Roll to see how they react. Bonuses for willing human sacrifices and the amputation of significant body parts.

In form, Ikhon is a box of booklets with black covers. You pick one, roll and hope you get a high result. Roll a one, when invoking the Old Dead, she pluck the skulls out of everyone present and throws them in the air. If you roll a ten or higher, she will accompany you until you indicate a target, and which point she will eradicate them from existence. It’s a game of extremes.

The draw, aside of injecting chaos into your game, is Samuel Araya’s art. Ikhon is basically a perfect portfolio: 44 gruesome pieces that land somewhere between Johan Nohr and Stephen Gammell.
