TORG2

The Living Land (1990)

OK, so, the main thing with Torg is that this creep called the Gaunt Man wants to take over Earth and, to do so, enlists the high lords of other realities to invade it. Each reality, or cosm, intruded into Earth, taking over a portion of it and imposing its own axioms on the region.

The Living Land took over swaths of North America. It is low on tech and magic, but high on miracles and dinosaurs. In fact, it is dominated by a race of sadomasochistic saurian humanoids called…edeinos. There are also sentient flying starfish.

God, what did I get myself into here?

I’ve got nothing. You’re going to have to read this one on your own. Which I don’t recommend, because it is joyless and brutal. It is also a great example of how shoddy the line is in terms of production value. The art is terrible (I’ve read that it was done on an incredibly short turnaround – I hope that is true). And this was a launch book!
