Four years before Mutants Down Under, there was Aftermath’s Campaign Pack A2: Sydney (1984), which details a largely wilderness campaign area.

The production values are much higher with this book. Charrette’s cover painting, with its taun-taun-like kangaroos, is still in its circle, but the interior art is by Liz Danforth, which is a big step up from the previous interior art.
In true Aftermath fashion, the material here is dense and detailed, sketching out the ruins of Sydney and a surrounding area reminiscent of Mad Max with some slightly medieval flavoring. There are also details on the mutated fauna, including giant kangaroos and drop bears – carnivorous koalas. Nothing super thrilling, but sturdy enough if you’re running an Australian post-apocalypse, I suppose.
